Overview
Hotel Cipriani will open on 27th May until 5th October 2025.
Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, is Venice’s glamorous cultural haven. Located on tranquil Giudecca Island, it is just five minutes from St Mark’s Square by courtesy shuttle launch, yet its self-contained setting feels a world away. The hotel was opened in 1958 by Giuseppe Cipriani, attracting prestigious personalities every decade since, including Yves Saint Laurent, Elizabeth Taylor and Anna Wintour. The design is a contemporary melting pot of international style, reflecting the dynamic heritage and tastes of its guests while echoing the glorious romance of Venice. In the 79 rooms and suites, plush textures, lavish fabrics and a cinematic sense of style complement the mesmerising views through the window.
Mornings may begin with a lavish breakfast, a treatment in the sublime spa, alfresco yoga or a lesson on the tennis court. In the verdant Casanova gardens, winding pathways reveal modern sculptures that reflect Hotel Cipriani’s role in contemporary culture. The legendary pool is one of Venice’s premier spots to see and be seen. Exclusive cabanas offer the ultimate privacy for poolside wellness rituals.
Evenings come to life in an array of coveted dining venues, including the gold-ceilinged, Michelin-starred Oro restaurant, lagoon-side Cip’s Club and Il Porticciolo seafood restaurant. In lively Bar Gabbiano, George Clooney has been known to make cocktails for his friends.
Families are amply catered for with in-room movie nights, a children’s concierge and Kids’ Club. Curated activities for all ages satisfy a curiosity for culture. They include cruises to secret lagoon islands, Venetian rowing lessons and behind-the-scenes access to glass factories and art galleries.

Bacari Tour
Dive into Local Traditions.
Immerse yourself in a lively Venetian tradition and join us for a bacaro walking tour. Led by an expert English-speaking guide, you’ll stop at a number of the charming bars where the culinary offerings are to die for, and others that shine out for the conviviality of the host.
Venetians call this perambulation of tiny trattoria a “bacarata”, which usually starts at around dusk. Inside the bacaro, which is often furnished with wooden tables and benches, they gather to enjoy a refreshing ombra (drink) and a cicchetto (typical Venetian snack) as they exchange news and laugh with the owners, who are often as much of a draw as the bacari themselves. It’s customary to spend 30 minutes in one place before moving onto the next.
Edipo Re
Discover the hidden gems of the Venetian lagoon.
Sail to the remote islands of the Venetian Lagoon aboard Edipo Re, the boat that once saw love blossom between Maria Callas and Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Explore rarely-seen parts of the city before returning to the boat for lunch or dinner, cocktails and canapés, or a tasting of exquisite local produce such as cult caparossoli clams. As you savor each flavor, gazing over the serene lagoon, imagine the diva and the director doing just the same.
Scala del Bovolo
Admire Venice waking up at your feet.
Board a complimentary shuttle to St. Mark’s Square early morning while the city sleeps. Take a stroll through the deserted streets—they belong to you at this time of day.
Reach the exquisite arches of Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo and climb the spiral staircase. At the top you’ll find the finest views in Venice, and a breakfast served as the sun rises. There’s no finer start to the day.
Out and about with the Cipriani
Not ready for the cold season yet? Cipriani has designed a signature outdoor experience to keep dreaming of summer in Venice.
An exclusive boat tour awaits to unveil some of the most remote islands of the Venetian lagoon. Lush nature and authentic tranquility complement this off-the-beaten-track adventure.
SLOW VENICE
Reach Sant’Erasmo Island, the green heart of Venice, for a bike tour and visit a celebrated apiary, Il Miele del Doge. A local family manages the beehives that produce 100% organic barena honey – barene are salt marshes, tiny strips of land that disappear at high tide. The bees feed on the limonium, or sea lavender, flowers that grow here, to produce a sweet, balsamic honey with a slightly salty tang. The tour culminates in a visit to owner Mara’s home for a delicious tasting.
Alternatively, guests can cycle through Lio Piccolo, a cluster of islets separated by tiny canals in the Venetian Lagoon, and pedal along a narrow road bordered on both sides by barene. A visit to the local villages of Saccagnana and Pra follows to meet some of the 30 inhabitants of this pristine, nature-rich wilderness. At the end of the day, a little aperitivo right by the water, before gliding into the sunset and back to the hotel. These tours can be enjoyed aboard an electric boat.
