DAY 2 Berlin

Discover historic Berlin, starting with a visit to the Reichstag Building, viewing panoramas of the city from its large glass dome. Stroll through Potsdamer Platz and stop at Checkpoint Charlie, a former border crossing between East and West Berlin. After lunch, step into the Boros Bunker for a privately guided viewing of the contemporary art collection housed in this former World War II air-raid shelter. Finish with a Scenic Sundowner overlooking the city, before dinner.

DAY 3 Berlin

Today, meet a local artist to learn about the history of the Berlin Wall at the iconic East Side Gallery, a series of murals painted on the longest section of wall still standing. DAY 4 Meissen

Delve into the world of exquisite Meissen porcelain on a guided visit to the manufacturer’s workshop that includes lunch and a private organ recital on their famous porcelain organ. This morning, set out on a walking excursion to see why the city is a global center of art, culture and architecture. Stroll through Marienplatz in the heart of Munich’s Old Town and watch the famous Rathhaus-Glockenspiel display its stories of 16th-century Bavarian culture. Marvel at the Frauenkirche cathedral’s twin onion-style domes, and then, at lunchtime, set out for an extensive foodie tour to indulge in the best tastes of the region, such as schmalznudel (a Bavarian-style doughnut), sausages, local cheeses and beers. Later, on a Chef’s Table experience, delight in a brewery visit and eat dinner in a traditional beer hall.

It is estimated around 80% of Berlin was destroyed during the Second World War; landmarks like the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church stand as a lasting reminder of the mass destruction this city once endured. Perhaps one of Berlin's most famous landmarks is the Berlin Wall, the 'iron curtain' that divided this great city into two halves between 1961 and 1989. The East was governed by communism while the West was allowed to flourish under a democratic capitalist government. Even now, over a decade after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the differences between the former East and West are still very apparent. Berlin has an undeniable air of mystery that has always been and always will be a major draw for tourists from around the world.

Our English speaking driver will await you at the harbor of Rostock and takes you to Berlin. The duration of the drive is max 3 hours.
You will start the tour in Berlin at Charlottenburg palace where your personal guide is waiting for you and will show you the wonderful garden of the castle.
Afterwards you will start with the theme tour “Berlin the city of contrasts”:
The historical Berlin
includes the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the boulevard Unter den Linden, the famous Gendarmenmarkt as well as Charlottenburg Palace, the largest and most beautiful Baroque palace in Berlin.
The cultural Berlin
includes the city's three opera houses, two concert halls, numerous theaters and museums as well as the unique Museum Island with five important museum-buildings and the Kultur-Forum, where one of the world's most important collections of European paintings from the 13th till the 19th century is shown.
